Spotlight on our Partners - Who are Animal Aid?

We are incredibly excited to have Animal Aid on board with us as a fellow supporter of positive change. As one of the world’s longest running animal rights groups, their campaigns have helped globally to help move the world in a rightful change toward cruelty-free living and rights for animals.

Impact and Animal Aid hold a shared vision of, as they say, ‘a world in which animals are no longer harmed and exploited for human gain, but allowed to live out their lives in peace’. All living beings, be they human or otherwise, deserve a life free from cruelty, free from torture, and free from death simply for the gain of others.

At Animal Aid, they have:

  • Carried out groundbreaking undercover investigations to expose the horror and suffering behind farm animals, slaughterhouses, and game bird establishments.

  • Carried out extensive political lobbying

  • Created the vegan pledge initiative which has caused for thousands to embrace change and live a cruelty-free lifestyle for a month with all of the information and resources they need. Around half of these participants then continue to stay vegan into summer.

  • Trained volunteer school speakers to provide talks to schools as well as cookery demonstrations and education.

  • Provided schools with resources such as DVDs, lesson plans, and work sheets to create positive change among the younger generation to grow a more thoughtful community in the future.

  • Brought awareness to the movement against animal cruelty.

Just like Impact, Animal Aid are not-for-profit. The reason they’re not listed as a charity is because it can restrict their political campaigning and therefore, reduce their capabilities for change.

Without them, events such as Cambridge University’s testing lab for primates would have been created – a massive facility they were planning to build specifically for testing on primates. Age UK has also stopped funding animal research, and Marie Curie has adopted a policy against funding any animal experiments.

They are also a huge factor behind why there are so many vegan products available nowadays. Through the awareness they’ve spread, and the minds they’ve taught, other advocates and pushers of the social movement have brought positivity to the globe. Because of this, they’ve been a huge influence and inspiration for Impact, and we one day hope to create the same ripples they have.
